Object history | Transferred from the India Museum in 1879. The 1880 Inventory gives the corresponding India Museum slip number for 05586(IS) as 6195, but the missing fragment cut from this piece is numbered as 6250 in the publication below. India Museum Slip book entry 6250: 'Turban / Ahmedabad Bombay / 1867 / Price Rs. 9-8 / Original nos.108 / Yellow cotton with golds ends'. Swatches cut from this piece appear as a chromolithograph in John Forbes Watson's Collection of specimens and illustrations of the textile manufactures of India: Second series (1874), vol.1, No.62. |
