Object history
Acquired by Caspar Purdon Clarke on his purchasing trip to India in 1881 to 1882. COTTON PRINT. Unfinished. Second stage of manufacture. Prepared with a mordaunt and printed with a small diaper pattern of a sprig in red on a white ground, with narrow side borders, and wide end borders in bands of floral cones, trellis pattern, and floral designs in white on a red ground. Made for the Singapore. market. Combaconum. 19th cent. L. 7 ft. 6 in., W. 3 ft. 6 in. Bought, 2s. 6d. 2310.-1883. (I.S.).
