Transferred from the India Museum in 1879. Slip book 3793: 'A Kind of Petticoat / Phurea [phariya] / Kathmandoo, Nepal / 1855 / Sir Jung Bahadur / Benares Kincob Gold & Crimson'. 1880 Register Entry: [Case 26] 0667. KINCOB. Length of; Benares. 3793'. Swatches of fabric cut from the original pahirya skirt cloth appear in John Forbes Watson's Second Series of The Textile Manufactures of India (1874) vol.401-458, no.408.
