Drawing
late 19th century (made)
Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
Brush drawing, ink on paper, landscape with animals. The delicately drawn scene shows a lake in the centre with wading birds, with hills rising behind it. In the foreground are two lions, one devouring a carcass. The scene fills a trapezoidal piece of paper, within carefully drawn margins, which suggests that it may have been meant as a design for an enamelled belt buckle, or other decorative metalwork.
