Silver repousse, engraved, and chased salver. Decorated with a peacock at the centre surrounded by two principal bands comprising scenes of male figures within quatrefoils, and the Burmese signs of the Zodiac in cusped arches alternating with the eight planets (gyo-shit-lan) in the quatrefoils. These designs are interspersed with concentric bands and borders of lotus leaf patterns and geometric designs. The rim of the salver is scalloped, or lotus petalled. The circular salver is supported on four ball and claw feet, with a cavetto and broad rim. An inscription bears the date April 1940 and the names of Major and Mrs. Day.
