Design for a woman's dinner dress of 1883, showing a full length female figure wearing a low cut white gown with a tight fitting bodice and elbow length sleeves with, on the wearer's left shoulder, a large brown bow and, from the right shoulder, a brown sash running diagonally across the bodice with a belt of similar material to the waist, the sheath shaped skirt with a wide ruffle to the hem and a wide band of the brown material in a swag below the hips with a large bow to the wearer's right, at the back a waterfall train. She holds a fan. To the right a back view of the dress showing the train. The design is signed and inscribed with costume details and is mounted on thick paper.
