Costume design for Margaret Lockwood as Mrs Cheveley in Act I of "An Ideal Husband". The design shows a full length female figure holding a black umbrella in her right hand. The figure wears a black and grey late 19th century morning or walking dress with hat or veil. The dress consists of a tight fitting jacket with "leg of mutton" sleeves which end in a ruffle, and a long flared skirt. The jacket opens to reveal a high collared black blouse with frills from the neck to the waist, and decorated at the neck with a black & white choker. A white rose is worn on the left hip. The "toque" style hat and veil is decorated with a white rose and a black plume. The design has been drawn and painted onto a light grey wash under a green spray paint effect.
