The figure wears a late 19th century deep plum coloured satin evening gown with velvet train. The dress is decorated with velvet bows and diamond buckles on the shoulders and left hip. The figure wears full length white gloves with (diamond?) bracelets, and a diamond necklace and tiara. The design has been drawn and painted over a light grey wash. Annotated by the artist.

This Costume design by Anthony Holland is part of an extensive collection of designs donated to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 1996. The design was executed for a production Oscar Wilde's play "An Ideal Husband" at the Strand Theatre, December 16th, 1965. The play was directed by James Roose-Evans.
