By the late 1960s many fashion designers had abandoned hard-edged lines and mini-lengths in favour of romantic, fluid designs. Lanvin's sophisticated interpretation of the prevailing vogue for historical and hippy touches epitomises the new mood. Jill was living in Zurich, but visited Paris often, and each season bought a daywear outfit and an evening dress, generally from the new ready-to-wear boutiques. Made from exceptionally lightweight silk, this dress was versatile and comfortable and was worn with orange silk shoes by Dior.
