Seal Impression
Large seal found during the excavation of the Ganges Canal between Hardwar and Kankhal, Uttar Pradesh. 6th t07th century A.D. This seal depicts the "Gaja Lakshmi" or the Goddess Lakshmi being lustrated by two elephants. The seal which is oval with a large loop of copper brazed onto the reverse has an inscription in Brahmi characters proclaiming it to be "(The Seal) of the Office of the District of the Warden of the Frontier of Sri-vadra".
