Relic casket, the upper half of this bowl-shaped casket has an elaborate decoration of a frieze showing two elephants, three deer, two horses and a winged leopard spaced in metopes; the lower half is ornamented with a lotus leaf design. The lid of the casket has a high knob shaped like a stupa.
It was recoved by Sir Alexander Cunningham and General Maisey from the site of Sonari, 6 miles S.W. of Sanchi, Madhya Pradesh in 1851, probably 1st century B.C.
