Teapot of octagonal form, with sloping shoulder and detachable cover, secured to the shoulder by a chain, in whose length is fixed an ornamental stopper for the curved spout. The square overhanging handle works on pins passed through "eyes" on the front and back of the shoulder. The tray has a projecting rim and sunk centre for the vessel. Both objects stand on eight angle-feet. The small-scale pattern in gold on black consists of richly scrolling floral and leafy stems curving upwards, amid which are birds and animals.
