Head cloth of cotton with a pattern printed by copper-stamps dipped in wax as a reserve. The unwaxed ground is indigo-blue. Over the reserved (white) and unreserved ground is applied irregular patches. A further over-pattern has been printed with wood-blocks smeared with gum, and the impress then is covered with gold leaf. The ground pattern is produced by the batik process and consists of scrolling floral and leafy stems, and rococo cartouches. The deep border has a gold design of repeated cross-forms within cruciform compartments. The field of the cloth also has a super-imposed gold diaper of rosettes and cross-forms.
