A fragment of a carved relief set within a sunk compartment. The relief has three clustered pillars connected by arcades, from which vases are suspended, by triple rows of chains, against a ground decorated with scrolling foliate arabesques in lower relief. There is a row of wheel-shaped motifs above the arcade, and on the right hand side a vertical row of stylised flowers carved on the plane of the surround.

Object history | The panel is believed to have come from a tomb in Ahmedabad. It was exhibited in the Annual International Exhibition, 1871, and was given to the South Kensington Museum by the India Office. |
