'MODEL of a Harrow (Moi), formed of strips of split bamboo. In common use among the natives of Assam. Made at JORHAT, SIBSAGAR DISTRICT, ASSAM, N.E. INDIA; 20th century. L. 6 in., W. 1 ¼ in. Given by H. Shuldham Shaw, Esq.
Sleigh-shape, with the barbed “rake” slung through two loops. Used for breaking the clods after ploughing. Drawn by bullocks, the driver stands on the two crossbars and holding onto the bullocks’ tails directs and drives them.' [text quoted from the acquisition register]
