Clump of bamboos with creeper-entwined branches, growing from a symmetrically-hummocked scale-mound with urns filled with stylised floral sprays. The border is filled with a formal garland, and both border and field have a red vermicelli ground.

Object history
A printed paper label on the back reads "Madras Products CV111, No. 18 (392) Palampore 3 x 3 yards, price Rupees 14; ordered by the Committee through G.N. Tayton Esq., Sub-controller of Rajahmundry. Property of H.E.I.C.' There is a Telegu (?) code mark written in ink on the outer blue band.

Commissioned for the Paris Universal Exhibition, 1855.
