Cup of porcelain, covered with carved red lacquer. The cup has straight sides rounded below and rising to an everted rim, and a low foot. The inside is plain. On the outside the red lacquer has been applied to a biscuit surface. The carved design is a landscape scene with scholars approaching a bridge leading to a pavilion, another in a boat with a large paddle and a jar of wine, and yet another with his attendant standing on a promontory.
