Object history | Bequeathed by Mr. George Salting, accessioned in 1910. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Asia Department registers, as part of a 2022 provenance research project. For teacup and saucer and a bowl of this pattern, see C.1437, 1439-191. For a bottle with the same decoration, see C.49-1951. Apparently depicting Middle Eastern musicians, this design is known as 'Trumpeter's Service' and shows the taste for the "exotic East".;; |
