The painting, executed with pen and ink and wash drawing in black and grey tones on coarse thick cream paper, depicts seven long-skirted celestial figures with large eyes and sparkling head-dresses bearing the body of a moustached, kingly figure. Above through swirling clouds, we notice a domed and many-windowed palace.

The artist was born in Madras in 1941. Despite his learning disability he studied at the School of Arts and Crafts (Madras). In 1965 he participated in the Commonwealth Arts Festival in London. Exhibitions of his work have been organized at the the Lalit Kala Academy and Mumbai. His works are held in the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, State Lalit Kala Academy, Madras and Gallery Chemould, Mumbai. The artist has also executed three mural drawings for the Hotel Connemara, (Chennai), commissioned by the architect Geoffrey Bawa. The artist died in 1973 in Chennai.
