Painting, in opaque watercolour on paper, the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb (1658-1707) as an old man. He is dressed in a white diapered jama and turban, pink striped trousers, pink patka and red slippers. He holds a long gold staff in his right hand and a document n his left. On either side of him a clump of red flowers grow. The background is dark green with a wide crimson border one each side. At the top a turbulent and tangled sky.
