From a series of five Ragamala pictures in the collection of Eric Schroeder, Cambridge, Mass., USA, asavari ragini bears an inscription on the reverse, which translates: 'The signature of the painter Jai Kishan at Malpura. It is written for Rai Moti Ram at Malpura, 1756 A. D.' (from the register description).
