Painting, opaque watercolour on paper, depicting Raja Karan Singh. The Raja faces to the left. He is dressed in a jama of gold diapered with a flower motif. Round his neck is a pearl necklace and a white garland. He wears a jewelled belt from which is slung a sword in a crimson scabbard, and holds a lotus-flower in his right hand. The sword is of a Deccani type. His turban and slippers are of gold brocade, his trousers - white with crimson and green stripes. The background is turquoise and isolated clumps of flowering plants grow on the ground.
