Painting, in opaque watercolour on paper, Krishna and Balarama are depicted in dancing pose under a tree. Both figures are standing on lotus and are adorned with peacock feather headgear. Balarama holds a horn and Krishna holds a flute. Both figures are wearing pleated dhoti with their upper torso bare, but each has a cape thrown over their back. Both are adorned with silver-coloured ornaments (executed in tin alloy), including multi-string necklaces, a stock-in-trade of Kalighat patuas. The figures are well executed with rounded limbs and some shading as well as silver-coloured trimmings.
