Scroll painting, watercolour on paper, with a cloth support, with two panels. In the upper one, a Santal chief is shown seated on a chestnut horse (with a head similar to that of the bull in Picasso's Guernica), which is led by an attendant on foot; another man with a gun and a dog on a leash pursues a spotted stag. In the lower panel, three sepoys stand in a row, each with the right arm pointing upwards. The dominant rich chestnut brown colour is alos used on the (indented) borders of the scroll. The lower portion of the scroll consists of two used official forms of the East Bengal Railway, dated 1936 and 1933.
