Sultan Ahmad Shah's Mosque, Ahmedabad. The private musjid of the Sultan at Ahmedabad. This and many other musjids and buildings are constructed with materials brought from the ancient Hindu city of Puttan (Patan) Somnauth (Somnath).
Sultan Ahmad Shah of Gujarat (ruled 1411-41) founded the city of Ahmedabad, The mosque, built in 1414, was apparently, his private chapel.
