This vase is made in clear glass sprayed allover with a tin and iron chloride mixture which, when reheated, produces this brilliantly lustred gold finish known as 'marigold'. This design was very popular and was available in many sizes. This is a medium sized example, (see 7571 for the tall version) extended by swinging after moulding and while still molten and therefore stretchable. The design appears in catalogues from about 1914 to the mid 1920s. This type of glass has been called Carnival Glass since around 1960. This design is called 'Ripple' by collectors.

Physical description
Pressed and hot-worked clear glass vase. Circular in shape with flared and wavy rim. The exterior has an unulating ringed and ribbed press moulded pattern, with a sprayed-on metallic 'sunglow' finish which gived it a gold iridescence.
