Costume design for The Tartar Bride in Aladdin on Ice, showing a full length female figure with arms outstretched. The figure wears a white fur edged tabard and long train decorated with large gold stylised flowers and leaves, and lined with gold fabric. The sleeves and neck are dressed with sheer fabric and decorated with gold spangles or sequins in circular patterns around the cuffs, arms, collar and neck. The head is surmounted with a large and elaborate "Russian" style white and gold fur hat in the shape of a kokoshnik. The hat is decorated with a stylised gold flower at the front, and topped with two large gold decorated "horns" trimmed with long gold tassels. Some of the background around the figure is painted in pale blue. The design is signed and annotated with the name of the production, act & scene, and character.

Object history
This costume design by Anthony Holland is part of an extensive collection of designs donated to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 1996. This design was executed for the production of Aladdin on Ice held at the Empire Pool, Wembley, 1974. The production was directed and produced by Gerald Palmer, with choreography by Reg Park.

Historical significance: An example of ice show costume design by an artist who specialised in this field during the second half of the 20th century.
