Place of origin |
Painting of a fountain within a highly decorated alcove in Pompeii. There are layered border patterns and panels of decoration with a stepped feature in the centre where the water would tumble down into the pool at the bottom. On either side of the fountain there is also a grotesque head feature where it looks as though water would come out of the mouths.
