Painting, in opaque watercolour and gold on paper, half length portrait of Rama Chandra, King of Ayodha, the seventh Avatara of Vishnu for the destruction of the demon king Ravana. Rama is depicted as a clean-shaven man wearing a jewelled headdress as well as elaborate necklaces and amulets of jewels; over his right shoulder is slung his magic bow, and in his upheld right hand is an arrow. The figure is placed in a white oval on a square blue panel, which is bordered with a continuous undulating leafy stem in gold on a yellow ground. Inscribed at the bottom, with the name 'Rajah Ram Chand'.
