Object history | IM.54 to 64-1911 presented by Miss E J Hipkins as a "series illustrating the type of jewellery worn by Hindu women in the Trichinopoly District, Madras Presidency, probably made in Trichinopoly between 1850 and 1870." Information recorded in the acquisition register. Given by Miss E.J. Hipkins (100 Warwick Gdi'us[?], London, SW) in the name of her parents, the late A.J. Hipkins, F.S.G., and Mrs Jane Souter Hipkins. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Museum records (Asia Department registers and/or Central Inventory) as part of a 2023 provenance research project. RP 1911-1270M |
