This medal depicts the busts of Alessandro and Costanzo Sforza and was made by Gianfrancesco Enzola da Parma, who was working between 1456 and 1475 and died after 1512.

The Sforza of Pesaro were a branch of the family of rulers in Milan. Alessandro (1409-1486) was the first to be ruler over Pesaro. His sun was the more well known Costanzo da Sforza (1447-1483). Costanso was lord of Pesaro and its neighbourhood from 1473-1483. He was well educated, wrote peotry and had a huge library. He took part in some of the most important Italian wars of the second half of the 15th century. He was a knight and opportunist politician.
