Gallery label
This remarkable album of kimono designs has been created in dyed and embroidered silk. These miniature 2-dimensional versions of actual garments were produced to demonstrate the skill of the textile artisans as well as to offer design suggestions.(29/02/2020)

Acquisition method and source not identified in the Asia Department registers, accessioned in 1901. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Asia Department registers, as part of a 2022 provenance research project.
