Medal for proficiency in swimming, of hallmarked silver. The medal is shield-shaped, with decorative ribbons and laurel leaves and surmounted by a crown, and the obverse has a central escutcheon engraved with the recipient's first and last initials. The top has a ring through which a separate ring has been inserted to take a ribbon or chain.

Physical description
