Bruxelles 1958 Exposition Universelle

Poster
1958 (printed)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This is one of a number of posters in the V&A collection which were designed to advertise expositions and World Fairs. The imagery is often symbolic of theme of the event, but generally the emphasis is a confident vision of the future, and in particular advances in design, science and technology. Shows of scientific progress were central to the first post-war exposition held in Brussels in 1958 and this was embodied in the simple but effective design of the poster.
