Brief description | Silver quatrefoil necklace with snap clasp, Wurttemberg (Germany), 1860-1870. |
Physical description | Necklace of two lengths of chain made from quatrefoil rosettes. The lower chain is longer than the upper, and is linked to it at its lowest point to form two swags. The two chains are fastened by a square snap clasp, decorated on the front with filigree rosettes. There is a hole in the centre of the clasp, which would have held a decorative motif, or coloured paste. |
