Ind Coope was founded in 1845 when Octavius and George Coope joined with Edward Ind to take over Romford Brewery, which can be traced back to c.1770. They opened a brewery in Burton-on-Trent in 1856 and registered as Ind Coope & Co. Ltd., in November, 1886. Ind Coope merges with Samuel Allsop & Sons in 1934 and then with Ansells and Tetley Walker in 1961 to form Allied Breweries.

Dish, offset litho printed tinplate, rectanglar, the sides folded at at an angle of 45° and with a crenellated upper edge, each corner, a fluted scallop shell, the tray with a polychrome, panoramic image of the Ind Coope brewery, the upper and lower edges printed with the legend: `IND COOPE & Co. Ltd', within a scrolling banner, the sides: BREWERS / BURTON-ON-TRENT.
