Chest, made of oak with wrought iron mounts, oblongin shape with a convex lid, strengthened with vertical and cross bands with engraved edges and held by round-headed nails. The lid is studded with rosettes and fitted with three hasps, two for padlocks and one for the lock. At each end an oval handle is held by two stanchions. The stand is painted red, cusped arches with leaf ornament in the spandrels, the two ends have one, the sides have two painted.

This chest would have been used for transporting valuables - so it has two padlocks in addition to the lock.It has a convex lid so that rainwater would drain away easily.
