Hilt of standard cross-hilt form comprising a cast pear-shaped pommel and button and a cross formed of flat spatulate quillons with oval terminals on either side of a cusp-shaped quillon-block. Oval wooden grip bound with alternate strands of gilt-copper wire. Pommel and quillons are of plain gilt brass. Straight double-edged blade of diamond section with a small shoulder. Scabbard of wood covered with white parchment, the mouth cut to receive the quillon block. Near the scabbard mouth is set a plain belt hook. Tapering shape with indented upper edge. Both belt-hook and lower chape are of plain gilt brass.
