Object history
The Museum purchased the censer for £60, from Domenico Fuschini (of Rosebery Avenue, London E. C.) in May 1911. A note added to the Museum object register when the censer was acquired states that it was 'Found about 30 years ago at Farindola, province of Teramo, Italy; under a ruined church; then bought by Baron Aliprandi of Citta di Penne (died 1910). Bought by N. Fuschini from the Marquis Sterlick to whom it was bequeathed by Baron Aliprandi. (Information from vendor.)'
