This fountain figure represents Pomona and is made in Nuremberg in the late 16th century. The figure relates to the style of Benedict Wurzelbauer (1548-1620), who made the great bronze Fountain of Virtues outside the church of St Laurence in Nuremberg, completed in 1589. It shows the complex mannered style which developed in Nuremberg bronze sculpture towards the end of the 16th century.
