Place of origin |
Oxydised silver watch with matching chain and ceramic stand. The watch case is drop-shaped, made of silver with a dark grey matt finish, with three sheet gold appliqués round the edges, and a suspension loop at the top set with a cabochon ruby on each side. In the centre of the front is a recess, of the same shape as the case, containing the dial, which is pale grey, with only an AW monogram above, and the capital letter 'Q' below, the two hands. A gold rim, decorated with a random pattern of granules, separates the case and the dial. At the top, next to the peak of the drop, is a gold projection holding a round cabochon ruby on each side. On the back is a hinged opening with a gold knob, with a cursive engraving in German.
The chain is made of the same dark grey silver as the watch, with an oval loop at one end and a lobster clasp at the other. It is threaded through a space at the top of the watch, below the ruby projection.
The stand is boat shaped and made of dark grey ceramic to match the other parts. It has the signature of Alfred Weber on each side in gold, and a piece of black material on the base to prevent slipping.
