Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Finger rings are one of the most popular kinds of jewellery. They have been worn in almost all places throughout history, and, unlike most other pieces, were commonly used as often by men as by women.

This ring, which was bought at Andujar, is typical of Spanish traditional rings. It was described as 18th-century when it was acquired in 1871, but rings of this design continued to be made up to the end of the 19th century for wear by the conservative rural population.
