Brief description
Silver-plated pendant earring set with imitation amethysts and pearls, France, 1860-1870.
Physical description
Silver-plated metal pendant earring, consisting of a large oval amethyst paste set in a frame of open filigree scrolls. There are four smaller amethyst pastes, and four imitation pearls, set in the filigree frame. There are three matching drop-shaped pendants hanging from the lower edge, each set with an amethyst paste and a pearl. The pendant hangs from a small plaque made in the same style, set with an amethyst paste and a pearl, attached to a curved wire.
