Brief description
English, 1710-30, walnut, with key, 60/1977a
Physical description
Bureau cabinet of walnut with carved ornament and doors inset with mirrors, which are modern. Cabinet above with curved broken pediment fluted piasters at the angles with Corinthian capitals and hinged doors inset with mirrors, one enriched also with a fluted piaster; interior consists of a cupboard in the middle surrounded by drawers and open receptacles. Bureau has sloping falling front and contains pigeon-holes; above are two sliding candle supports. Below are two short and three long drawers with brass drop-handles and plates.
