Hand-brace of turned and carved boxwood in the stereotyped shape of an arm and hand (hand forming the chuck) with grotesque animals' heads. The crank consists of mouldings between two grotesque animals' heads, from the mouth of one of which protrudes a shaped portion, bearing the date 1642 and receiving the swivelled hand; from the other issues a hand, clasping a cup, which forms a socket for the bit.

Hand-brace of turned and carved boxwood in the stereotyped shape of an arm and hand (hand forming the chuck) with grotesque animals' heads.
