Physical description

Stool, walnut; the seat is covered with red velvet, ornamented with five applied transverse bands of floral scrollwork in blue and white silk. Round the edge runs a trimming of interlacing white threads looped up and enclosing purple parallelograms on a red ground, into which the threads are worked. The baluster legs are strengthened by three cross-pieces of similar shape, and were originally painted black.
