The shaft is cylindrical in form and fashioned from a single piece of dark wood carved and inlaid with brass in a pattern of wavy lines. The shaft terminates in a shallow ‘v’ shaped handle, the ends curving into stylised vegetal form and carved with flowers and leaves inlaid with brass.
