The toy is lithographed tinplate and the mechanism is housed in the body with the key hole on the left side. It is dark blue and white with red, black, pink, light blue, yellow and green markings. The ears of the panda are black plastic and the drumsticks coiled metal ending in red palstic knobs. The panda and drum are mounted on a platform. When wound up the toy moves on two wheels set under the platform and connected to the mechanism. There is a balancing wheel towards the front. When the toy moves the panda beats the drum and its head moves.
