The bird is lithographed tinplate and the mechanism is housed in the body with the key protruding from the left side. It is red with black, tan, brown and white markings. There is a thin panel running lengthwise through the body forming the beak at one end and the tail at the other, made of yellow plastic. The feet are also of yellow plastic. When wound up the bird hops along.
