The body of the turtle is lithographed tinplate and the underside is plain. The clockwork mechanism is housed inside and the key protrudes on the left side. The turtle is red with brown, yellow, white, green and black markings. The tail is a piece of silver plastic.
When wound up the toy will move on two wheels set under the centre area and connected to the mechanism. There is a stablising knob at the back.
